Health Insurance Enrollment and Renewal Now Available Online

The Health Insurance Board (HIB) has officially launched its HIB E-Portal, allowing people to enroll in the national health insurance programme, renew policies and update KYC details online.

The service is available from August 15, 2026 (Shrawan 29, 2083) through the HIB E-Portal. The system is integrated with Nepal’s National ID database, while family members without a National ID can submit their details manually.

Premium payments can be made through eSewa, Khalti and ConnectIPS. Existing policyholders can use their family head’s health insurance number to update KYC details and renew their policies.

The system also allows bulk enrollment and renewal for offices and organizations. After verification and approval at the district or provincial level, a digital health insurance card will be issued.

HIB officials say the online system is expected to save time, improve transparency and strengthen the accuracy of insurance records as Nepal moves toward fully digital health insurance services.
