The Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh has been selected for the World Health Organization (WHO) South-East Asia Regional Public Health Champions Award 2026 for its contribution to restoring sight to millions of people through equitable, people-centred eye care and significantly reducing preventable blindness in Nepal.
The award will also be presented to Thailand’s Dr Nitaya Phanuphak and India’s Dr K. Suresh Kumar.
The Public Health Champions Award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made a lasting impact on public health through innovation, equity and community participation, leading to significant improvements in healthcare.
