The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene has urged the health sector to remain on high alert and strengthen preparedness and response measures amid the risk of heavy rainfall, floods, landslides and inundation.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority have forecast moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and strong winds, in various parts of the country from October 29 to 31, 2026 (Kartik 12–14, 2083).
In response, the ministry’s Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit has issued a circular to Provincial Health Emergency Operations Centres in all seven provinces, urging them to ensure that essential health services and emergency response capacities remain ready to respond effectively to potential disasters.
